Student Learning Targets for this Week (10/5/15)

Reading:
Week 4: I can use key details to determine a story's central message. I can identify non-literal language and explain its meaning.

Math:
Week 4: I can subtract within 1000 based on place value, decomposing when necessary. I can use multiple strategies for subtracting within 1000.

Writing:
Week 4: I can use sensory details (sound, vision) to make my writing come alive for the reader. I can compose a Short Write, and can discuss and practice strategies for rereading my writing.

October's Character Trait is Responsibility:
Students are learning that responsible people do what they are supposed to do, keep trying, always do their best, are accountable for their choices, think before they act and consider the consequences. Students are responsible when they make appropriate choices in their everyday actions. 

                             Upcoming Events 

October 14th: Cookie Dough Orders Due

October 15th: Family Movie Night featuring "Hercules"
5:30 in cafeteria.

October 16th: No School for Students. Professional Development/Parent Communication Day for teachers.

October 16th: Free Flu Clinic in cafeteria at 3:00-7:00.

October 20th: Family School Night, 5:30-7:00

October 30th: Spirit Assembly, 10:15 in the gym featuring Character Trait of the Month: Responsibility. Class Awards and Students of the Month. It's also Crazy Hair Day!
